About Me

I obtained my first Masters degree in Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile where I also  specialized in Clinical Psychology and completed therapy training in Psychodynamic Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

 

I obtained my second Masters degree in Clinical Psychoanalysis from the Central American University of Social Sciences in Costa Rica. During later years, I deepened my knowledge with courses on neuroscience and neuropsychology, and learning different techniques including meditation and mindfulness therapy.

After graduating, I have worked in diverse settings including psychiatric institutions, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and my private practice.

I have worked extensively with the Salesian community and the Italian ONG Voluntariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo in social programs, dedicated to treating the mental health of children and teenagers in negative social situations and victims of abuse, collaborating with the national and local government of Bolivia and UNICEF.

Thanks to this, I have experience with diverse populations and a broad range of psychiatric disorders, trauma and life challenging experiences.

During the pandemic, I transitioned my private practice from the traditional in-patient format to online videocall format in response to the global emergency and the needs of patients who were further distressed by the confinement and loss of loved one. I was surprised to discover that technology served greatly to the purpose of connecting us therapist to those seeking for help, and that the videocall format allowed for the creation of a safe healing space for my clients from the comfort of their own home.
